Having several alternative investing ideas is a must today and should be considered with every diversified investment portfolio.
The beauty, as you’ll see in a moment, is we live in a world filled with several various investment opportunities.
Smart investors, the smart money, are always asking where can I invest money instead of stocks that can offer similar returns, while also diversifying a portfolio for economic swings.
Let’s jump right into that, but first, let’s share why investing in alternative asset classes makes sense.
Are alternative investments a good idea?
Alternative investments are most certainly a good idea for investors, but there are things one should consider before making that investment. We’ll jump into that here.
One thing all investors should keep in mind is the liquidity of an investment and the time frame to when an investor may need access to those funds.
Many alternative investments aren’t always immediately liquid. That means, you can’t easily sell that opportunity to gain access to your original investment. Thus, that should be taken into consideration.
The advantage of alternative investments is the high returns and the hedge it can offer in today’s economy. The stock market can fluctuate a lot overtime and unfortunately bond yields aren’t attractive enough to entice today’s investors.
There are so many new alternative investment opportunities opening up today that were only available in the past to accredited investors.
In the United States, to be considered an accredited investor, you must have a net worth of at least $1,000,000, excluding your primary residence, or have an annual income of at least $200,000 each year for the last two years (or $300,000 combined income if married) and have the expectation to make the same amount this year.
Luckily though, as you’ll see in a moment, many new investment opportunities have opened up that don’t require one to be accredited or affiliated to some private network most don’t have access to. You see, until recently some opportunities that offered great upside were only available to private endowments, venture capitalists or access to some private ‘boy’s club’.
This is no longer the case as you’re about to see.
Before diving into all these new investment opportunities, one last comment. Make sure to do your own due diligence on any of these investment opportunities. Every investor has different objectives, so consult your own financial consultant or tax advisor. All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of money you invest, and past performance does not guarantee future performance. Historical returns, expected returns, and probability projections are provided for informational and illustrative purposes, and may not reflect actual future performance.
10 Alternative Investing Ideas
Alternative Investment Idea: YouTube Channels
It naturally makes sense that we start with one alternative investing idea close to our hearts and that’s investing in YouTube channels.
Here at CBA, we start, grow, monetize and eventually sell YouTube channels for our investors. Investors own the channel 100%, while we here at CBA manage the channels for our investors.
What’s beautiful about investing in YouTube is it’s the gift that keeps on compounding. YouTube channels are primarily monetized by the ad revenue YouTube pays channel owners.
As you consistently upload new videos your channel grows, while videos from the past still continue to get new views. Thus it becomes a snowball that continues to just get bigger and bigger, compounding in growth.
Channels are evaluated after two years to see if they should be sold at a high multiple of monthly ad revenue or continue to hold on and receive the monthly profit YouTube pays out until the YouTube channel is sold.
